Vision and Beliefs:
I am equally an artist and an art teacher. I have never limited my efforts in either discipline. Pursuing a career in art, as well as teaching, is a balancing act. I have tried to maintain equilibrium all my life, giving energy equally to creating art and teaching art without sacrificing quality in either area.
I interpret the world I see through the lens of art. Art study is based on inquiry. I am a problem solver, and I set up problems with new challenges to foster my own growth. I create using a narrative voice, share my life stories, and interpret the world around me. I am stimulated by cultural study, and I believe that I must be engaged in the world, using art for social justice and the service of others.
